Caffeine – a rhyme

Innoculation – by David Owen Nunes

Ever since me and I were eighteen,

I been told I got to eat more protein,

Gotta get more than mere caffeine,

And that junk that I get in the shebeen.

Why do I have to eat like I is a machine,

avoid everything except when it is green?

Me, I think that all this is obscene,

Should have invented an innoculation, a vaccine.

Then could allow me my caffeine;

It’s not as if it is amphetamine,

And it doesn’t break the automated teller machine

Know what I mean?

David is many faceted, fascinating, fastidious, fair, fabulous and the other F word. He works in the Pensions Industry, plays occasional golf, and dreams of being able to write full time.
